cORNELL wEBSITE rEBUILD
As Lead Web Developer for Cornell Pump Company, I helped transform the company’s digital presence from an aging, limited website into a modern platform designed to serve customers, distributors, and sales teams around the world.
In 2022, I led a complete website rebuild, replacing a dated site originally developed in 2012 with a significantly more functional, visually engaging, and user-friendly experience. Built in WordPress using Elementor Pro, the redesign introduced stronger visual hierarchy, improved navigation, expanded content, and new tools that made Cornell’s extensive technical resources easier to find and use.
A major part of the project involved turning the website into more than a corporate presence—it needed to become a working resource for Cornell’s customers. I developed dedicated, searchable literature and datasheet catalogs, providing centralized access to the company’s extensive collection of product documentation. I also created a dedicated IoT hub to bring Cornell’s growing collection of connected technologies, monitoring solutions, and related content together in one cohesive digital destination.
Behind the scenes, my responsibilities extended beyond front-end design. I have successfully managed two web server upgrades, helping ensure the site’s infrastructure could continue supporting its expanding content and functionality.
See the Before & After
One of the best ways to appreciate a redesign is to see where it started. Cornell’s previous website—originally developed in 2012—has been preserved through the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, offering a snapshot of the company’s digital presence before I led the 2022 rebuild.
Looking through the archived site provides a direct comparison of the transformation, from the previous site’s limited navigation and functionality to the expanded content, improved user experience, searchable resources, and stronger visual identity of the redesigned platform.
Curious to see the “before”? Visit the Wayback Machine at web.archive.org, enter cornellpump.com, and explore archived versions of the website from before the 2022 redesign.
Continuing to Evolve
The website continues to grow alongside the company. I am currently developing its next major design refresh, introducing an updated visual direction and motion graphics to create a more dynamic digital experience while continuing to improve usability.
From server infrastructure and WordPress development to UX, information architecture, custom graphics, motion, and content management, my work on Cornell’s website reflects the same philosophy I bring to all of my design projects: make complex information easier to navigate, give it a strong visual identity, and build something that genuinely works for the people who use it.
