Prima (Animatic)

Prima is a deeply personal animation inspired by some of my most cherished childhood memories: growing up taking dance lessons and dreaming of becoming as talented as the older dancers I admired.

As a child, there was something magical about watching those dancers perform with such confidence and grace. What I couldn’t fully appreciate then was the tremendous amount of practice, perseverance, and dedication behind every seemingly effortless movement. Prima explores that journey—capturing both the wonder of dreaming big and the hard work required to turn those dreams into reality.

Through animation and visual storytelling, I wanted to celebrate the determination of young dancers while preserving the sense of awe and possibility I remember feeling as a child.

Prima was selected for inclusion in Western Oregon University’s 2019 Academic Excellence Showcase, where the animatic was recognized alongside the creative and academic work of fellow students.
