TRADESHOW DISPLAYS
As the lead Graphic Designer for Cornell Pump Company, I designed tradeshow environments that brought the Cornell brand to life at events across a wide range of industries. My work ranged from compact backdrops and roll-up banners to 10' × 20' booths and expansive 20' × 20' displays, each designed to make an impact in a busy exhibition hall.
My approach to tradeshow design is intentionally simple: the booth should support the conversation, not compete with it. Rather than overwhelming attendees with text and graphics, I use strong brand elements, clear messaging, bold imagery, and thoughtful visual hierarchy to draw attention to Cornell’s products and create an inviting space where attendees can connect with the sales team.
Designing at this scale also requires thinking beyond individual graphics. I consider how each element works within the physical environment—from visibility across a crowded tradeshow floor to traffic flow, product placement, sightlines, and brand recognition. Whether working with a small display or a large-format exhibit, the goal remains the same: create a cohesive, professional space that gets people to stop, look, and start a conversation.
A quick note about the photography: While I designed the tradeshow displays featured here, I did not take the event photos. Most were captured by members of Cornell’s sales team while attending shows around the country—who graciously did their best to remember to send their designer a photo or two from the show floor!
